Cyber defenders sound the alarm as F5 hack exposes broad risks

Reuters was nearly a minute ahead of competition when cybersecurity company F5 said an unidentified “nation-state cyber threat actor” had hacked its systems and extracted files including a portion of its source code. The company’s shares slipped nearly 5% immediately after the announcement and dropped a further 10% to a one-month low the following day.
