Air India crash report shows pilot confusion over engine switch movement

Reuters was ahead of competition when India’s air accidents investigation bureau released its preliminary report on the Air India Boeing Dreamliner crash that killed 260 people last month.

Why it matters

The crash was the world’s deadliest aviation accident in a decade. The report said it was not recommending any actions to Boeing Dreamliners or the GE engines fitted in the plane and said that engine fuel switch movement led to the downing of the aircraft.

Both Boeing and GE Aerospace shares rose immediately during extended hours trading in the U.S.
