India bans sugar exports until Sept 2026 to cool local prices

Reuters was the first to report that India banned sugar exports with immediate effect, as the world’s second-largest sugar producer tries ‌to rein in local prices. Global sugar prices rose in London and New York, while shares of Indian sugar makers fell during the day.
